Your Team
Hosting Platforms and Engineering provide key hosting platform capability across Cloud (AWS/GCP) and On Premises services such as VMware and Backup services, as well as delivery of new capability in cloud and hosting automation. The solution design team support business initiatives with infrastructure technical expertise and guide the design and implementation of hosting solutions to business application needs across cloud and on premises technologies.
Your responsibilities
- Identify requirements and develop quality solution designs to meet infrastructure, business and resourcing needs
- Co-ordinate with Infrastructure delivery leads and technical SMEs to implement, support and troubleshoot solution delivery
- Communicate with project management for timeline, governance and budget aspects of delivery
- Liaise with network architects and SMEs to provide networking requirements and alignment of designs to network topology
- Provide technical direction to projects and initiative stakeholders where guidance and input are required
- Work with Hosting Engineering to uplift capability within Infrastructure across both people and technology
Your experience and qualifications
Must have
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure solution design, covering Operating Systems (RHEL/Win), Storage, Virtualisation, Networking, Firewalls and security practices. Familiarity with supporting services such as Kubernetes, Databases, AD and common application platforms.
- Functional familiarity with Cloud platforms, ideally AWS with such services as EC2, EKS, RDS, IAM and security groups
- Demonstrate technical design processes – requirements gathering, generating design documentation and implementation planning
- A security first mindset, with a willingness to identify and report risks, as well as plan mitigation and resolution approaches
- Background in supporting project planning, delivery and execution and familiarity with project budget and resource estimation
- Practice in technical leadership, with empathy towards others and a willingness to understand a diversity of goals
Nice to have
- Knowledge of application architecture and deployment principles such as containerisation, microservices and distributed systems
- An interest in emerging technologies both inside infrastructure and the broader industry
- Prior experience in driving the implementation of new technology or platforms
- A background in the Finance Services industry in particular compliance frameworks and governance practices
