THE OPPORTUNITY

The purpose of the role is to become a subject matter expert on workplace injury management practices to support Case Managers in developing the most effective return to work, return to live and recovery strategies and to deliver the right customer experience.

This will be a full time, 6-month max-term contract position based in the Newcastle office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work directly with case managers as part of a team to deliver the icare customer experience
  • Encourage proactive and open communication with key stakeholders during decision making process
  • Provide regular advice and feedback to Case Managers and Team Leaders on adverse decisions relating to injury management (treatment, services, medication etc).
  • Report to the Injury Management community and contribute to practice and professional development initiatives
  • Promote and provide injury management support to the claims team within agreed timeframes
  • Where required, attend and participate in Client Meetings

ABOUT YOU

  • A background in Allied Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or Exercise Science)
  • Excellent understanding of the Workers Compensation Act 1987 (NSW) & the Workplace Injury Management & Workers Compensation Act 1998 (NSW)
  • Demonstrated experience in Injury Management, particularly high-risk significant injury claims
  • Ability and commitment to continuous learning
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology
