About the Role (your why)

Our Cyber Defence Operations Centre (CDOC) delivers a range of mature and robust Cybersecurity Managed Services to customers throughout New Zealand and Australia. Our CDOC Platforms and Solutions team is looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer focused on delivering our Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR services.

This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your Microsoft cybersecurity expertise with automation skills to help evolve our services in line with the ever-changing threat landscape. You’ll enjoy being able to work from home up to up to 5 days per fortnight, be based out of Brisbane or Sydney and working with the wider team AU and NZ.

What you’ll do

In this role you will be focused on:

  • Delivering high quality cybersecurity services to our customers using the Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR stack.
  • Acting as a technology lead in the delivery and enhancement of these services.
  • Proactively evolving services to meet changes in threats, technologies, and market requirements.
  • Identifying and continually improving CDOC internal systems, including our SOAR and Threat Intelligence platforms.
  • Actively creating, managing, and improving automations, integrations, playbooks, and other tools and features to ensure efficient service delivery.

What you’ll bring

Required experience:

  • Proven experience leveraging the Microsoft technology stack for security operations (Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR).
  • Relevant cybersecurity engineering qualifications, such as the SC-200, AZ-500 and other Microsoft certifications.
  • Intermediate or higher scripting capability.
  • Ability to work within our SOAR and threat intelligence platforms
  • Broader experience with adjacent cybersecurity or cloud services technologies.
  • Application of cybersecurity concepts, preferably in a managed services or SOC environment.
  • A strong drive for continual learning and growth.
