About the business/role/team
This role sits within the Finance Department, and more broadly as part of the Enterprise Services and Strategy Group, at the Reserve Bank of Australia. As an Investment Accountant, you will be part of the Financial Reporting team responsible for the preparation of the Bank’s external financial and statutory reporting with a focus on the Bank’s investment portfolios. The role will involve working collaboratively with other Finance teams and with teams across the Bank.
About the role
Ensure that all transactions in the Bank's investment portfolios are accounted for accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.
Prepare external financial and statistical reports as well as internal management reports and statistical data in an accurate and timely manner.
Analyse and report on accounting developments impacting on the Bank's balance sheet and earnings.
Prepare projections of the Bank's balance sheet and profits.
Ensure the Bank's investment accounting policies and procedures comply with relevant reporting standards.
About you
Possess practical experience in financial reporting, including the preparation of annual financial statements, statistical reporting and analysis
Up to date knowledge of relevant Australian and International accounting standards
Strong organisational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Interest and knowledge of financial instruments and markets
Qualified member of a professional accounting body in Australia (or international equivalent) or advanced in working towards attainment of such qualification
