The opportunity
Group Investments is seeking an Investment Operations Analyst to join our Sydney office, working closely with teams in Sydney and New York to ensure seamless operational coverage across time zones. In this role, you will support global trading desks throughout the trade life cycle, including managing trade processes, performing reconciliations, resolving exceptions, maintaining security data integrity, and ensuring timely valuations. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with exposure to global markets and cross-border collaboration.

Your new role
Collaborate with global trade desks and external partners to manage and support the trade life cycle across all locations efficiently.
Administer investment systems, ensuring transactional activity are appropriately processed, recorded, and reconciled on a daily basis.
Accurately capture and maintain investments related data (valuations, security data) across all portfolios and geographies.
Engage with stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements.
Support internal and external audits by enabling effective assessment of controls and activities.
Manage relationships and oversight of external service providers and data vendors to ensure high service standards.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of all processes and provide technical operational support to stakeholders.
Align resources and priorities with business needs while demonstrating QBE DNA behaviours.
About you
Strong understanding of investment markets, industry standards, risk and compliance practices, and key fixed income metrics (e.g., Duration, Spread Duration, Yield).
Hands-on experience with investment systems (e.g., BlackRock Aladdin, Simcorp Dimension, Bloomberg, eFront, CTM) and understanding of trade matching, settlement, corporate actions, and private investments.
Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and external service providers; works effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; collaborative and independent working style, plus relevant industry courses or accreditations.
