Join the Mako IT Infrastructure team which is responsible for building and operating the complex technology foundation upon which the firm’s operations are built. In this team, world-class engineers work together to build a highly reliable low-latency platform to enable the firm’s business. 

The IT Operations Analyst will work closely with Mako’s trading, quant, developer and support teams to handle multiple aspects of administration, deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting of our global technology environment. There will be an opportunity to learn about all aspects of Mako’s technology footprint, as well as the business, and to grow your skills and knowledge in both breadth and depth.

What you’ll be involved in:

  • Installing, configuring and supporting workstations, servers, telephony systems and all associated peripheral devices 
  • Diagnosing and solving faults in both hardware and software 
  • Performing system builds and upgrades 
  • Supporting core trading and business software 
  • Identifying opportunities for automation
  • Creating and managing documentation

What we need from you:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • A passion for automating processes and using an infrastructure-as-code mind-set 
  • An open-minded and innovative approach and a desire to take initiative 
  • 2+ years’ experience working with Windows operating systems in a support capacity 
  • Good operational knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Office 365 
  • Experience installing and configuring workstations 
  • Experience of troubleshooting desktop hardware and software issues 
  • Scripting skills for automation of tasks is desirable e.g. Python, PowerShell 
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts & technologies 
  • Experience with financial, trading or low-latency environments is advantageous 
  • Hands on experience working in colocation/datacentre facilities is advantageous
