About the team
The IT Operations Analyst plays a key role in operational readiness, incident and problem resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to drive standardisation, reliability, and scalability of services. The position requires strong collaboration, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, always-on environment while supporting the successful delivery and ongoing operation of the FSS Next Refresh platform.
About the role
The role is responsible for delivering enterprise monitoring and automation support, ensuring critical systems and services are proactively monitored, issues are detected early, and operational processes are automated wherever possible to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. This includes installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining enterprise tools used for automation, scheduling, deployment, release management, and system monitoring across the technology landscape.
Work as part of the Operational Analyst Project team to support and improve efficiency using automation tools, scheduling and scripting.
Maintain a working knowledge of the IT Infrastructure platforms, tools, software packages used and ensure all system documentation complies with relevant IT Standards.
Monitor systems and services and provide 1st level support in line with predefined operational controls, processes and requirements.
Respond to system requests and messages, while monitoring IT incidents across operating system, network and application environments.
Monitor Networks and System Application using a variety of Enterprise tools.
Continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IT systems by IT operations.
Configuration of Monitoring software and enterprise scheduler tools.
Creating power shell scripts and configuration of API.
This role is primarily aligned to standard business hours; however, flexibility is required to support operational needs, including occasional work outside of these hours.
About you
Minimum 5 years’ experience as an IT Operations Analyst or similar role within large, complex organisations or transformation programs.
Excellent organisational and coordination skills, with a structured, proactive working style.
Clear, confident communication skills and experience working within project governance frameworks.
Experience in configuring Application Performance Monitoring alerting thresholds.
Strong knowledge of enterprise systems management, including configuring and modifying infrastructure objects and alerting thresholds.
Experience in configuring enterprise monitoring tools with infrastructure, application, database, AI Ops, ML capabilities either on premise or cloud-based SaaS solutions.
Working knowledge of operating systems and IT infrastructure (Windows, Linux, virtual machines, containers).
Working knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, JavaScript
Proven experience in toolsets such Safeguard, Spectrum, Tidal, etc.
