Role Information:
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and strategically minded and execution focused IT Operations Manager to join our Tech Operations division. This role reports directly to the Head of Technical Operations and works closely alongside the IT Lead. As the IT Operations Manager, you will oversee the management of critical business systems, accounts, and software licensing, while also leading the project management and delivery of IT initiatives. You will play a key role in driving IT operations, ensuring compliance, and enabling scalable, secure, and cost-effective systems across the organisation. In addition to operational oversight, you will manage the IT team’s project pipeline, ensuring effective planning, delivery, and cross-departmental alignment.

Your duties will include:

  • Oversee and maintain software and hardware asset management systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control across all platforms, owning the full account lifecycle (onboarding, changes, offboarding) in line with IAM principles.
  • Track and report software usage, trends, and costs, providing accurate forecasts for annual budgeting.
  • Lead software procurement, renewals, and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance.
  • Maintain clear documentation, knowledge bases, and process guides to support IT operations.
  • Scope, plan, and deliver IT projects end-to-end, defining requirements, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and stakeholder alignment for IT and Tech Ops initiatives.
  • Drive change management to support adoption of new systems, tools, and processes across the organisation.
  • Monitor project progress, risks, and blockers, providing updates and escalation where required.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for IT operations in partnership with the IT Lead, balancing stability with project execution.
  • Guide the IT team on prioritisation, workload management, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering accountability and professional growth.
  • Manage IT budgets, cost tracking, and optimisation for SaaS tools, hardware, and cloud services.
  • Partner with Finance on budget forecasting, scenario planning, and reporting.
  • Ensure all software licensing, renewals, and contracts are proactively managed and documented.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Strong background in IT operations, systems management, or similar roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in IT project management and delivery (end-to-end execution).
  • Hands-on experience with MS Active Directory or similar LDAP systems.
  • Strong understanding of IAM principles, account lifecycle management, and IT security practices.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks or other IT operational methodologies.
  • Proven experience managing vendors, software renewals, and licensing models.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while driving clarity and structure.
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities across technical and non-technical groups.

Bonus Skills:

  • Google Workspace administration and Slack expertise.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), including budget forecasting and cost reporting.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills (Google Sheets, Looker Studio, or similar).
  • Familiarity with scripting, automation, or game engine editors (e.g., Unreal).
  • Understanding of animation, gaming, or digital production environments.
  • A proactive, positive, and solutions-focused mindset.

What we offer:

  • A competitive starting salary with reviews every 6 months.
  • A flexible work arrangement and schedule, with options for work from home and flexi-hours.
  • A casual and fun office environment where individual input is valued.
  • Regular work functions and free entry to conventions and events.
  • Close to public transport in the heart of Parramatta CBD.
  • Paid for gym memberships.
  • Regular company breakfasts/lunches.
  • A diverse team that values independent input and career development.
