With teams across Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Canada, the US, the UK, and Europe, we produce award-winning content and events that inform, celebrate, and bring business communities together.

This is an opportunity for an experienced journalist to join our Sydney team and report across a range of Key Media's APAC titles. You will do so in person, at the roundtables, conferences, and client meetings that drive the best stories.

About the role

This is a hybrid role based in Sydney, with an in-person component. You will be required to attend client meetings in and around Sydney during the week, as well as industry events and roundtables across the APAC region. You must live within easy commuting distance of Sydney.

You will write across multiple Key Media titles, covering a range of B2B sectors including insurance, HR, finance and legal. Our APAC editorial team is collaborative and fast-moving, and you will be expected to bring energy, initiative, and strong journalistic instincts to the role.

What you will be doing

•     Conducting at least two interview-driven stories per day, including profiles of senior executives and industry leaders

•     Participating in client meetings in and around Sydney, representing Key Media's editorial brand with confidence

•     Generating original story ideas and bringing an agenda-setting mindset to your beats

•     Collaborating with editors and commercial teams overseas to grow traffic, support events, and develop new products

•     Embracing digital tools and technology as part of your everyday workflow

What we are looking for

•     Proven experience in journalism, with B2B, business, or industry reporting preferred

•     Strong interviewing skills and confidence engaging with C-suite executives and senior stakeholders

•     Comfortable attending events and roundtables, networking face-to-face, and representing Key Media publicly

•     Equally comfortable in client-facing settings; you can hold a room and represent the brand well

•     Proactive and deadline-driven, with sharp news sense and excellent writing

•     Very comfortable with technology and digital tools; you adapt quickly and are always looking for smarter ways to work

•     Curious, outgoing, professional and collaborative.

•     Based in Sydney or within easy commuting distance. This is a non-negotiable requirement of the role

Benefits of the role

•     Hybrid work setup with flexibility to work from home, with a Sydney office available

•     Attend high-profile industry events and roundtables across the APAC region

•     Unlimited LinkedIn Learning access, plus ongoing coaching and editorial support

•     One bonus vacation day for each year of service, plus one paid volunteer day annually

•     Free confidential counselling through our Employee Assistance Program
