An exciting, new, permanent leadership role as a Joint Reactor Team (JRT) Manager has arisen at HM Naval Base, Plymouth to lead a collaborative team working side by side with our Industrial Partner, Babcock as well as the MOD and Royal Navy.
With support from Babcock, Royal Navy and R-R representatives in your team, you will develop the capability of JRT as a relatively new collaborative initiative to quickly build arrangements and relationships to drive efficiencies into the effective delivery of maintenance on the naval reactor plant of the Royal Navy’s current class submarines in the dockyard. You will work closely with existing R-R arrangements such as the REO and the other managers within the Devonport JRT and reach out into various aspects of the wider Babcock, MoD and Rolls-Royce organisations, to develop opportunities and grow new capabilities where identified.
Together with strong leadership and communication skills, this role will require significant engineering experience and knowledge in the planning and execution of submarine maintenance periods, particularly with respect to that relevant to the reactor plant. The JRT manager will report internally to the R-R Devonport Site Exec, but also be expected to engage with the Babcock SSN Programme Director.

What you will be doing
You’ll be:
- Leading RRSL support working closely and collaboratively with both Babcock, MoD and other partners within the Submarine Enterprise in the optimised delivery of maintenance on the Naval Steam Reactor Plant (NSRP) in the Dockyard at Devonport.
- Identifying, demanding and drawing upon novel and innovate means by which to deliver maintenance on the NSRP and possibly elsewhere on the submarine platform.
- Building new or refine arrangements in and around the conduct of maintenance.
- Reporting to the RRSL Services Devonport Site Executive

- Programme Management skills and experience at major project and senior management level
