Job Description

About the Role:

As a Junior Claims Consultant at TAL, you will support our customers during challenging times. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating and analysing medical evidence
  • Determining policy coverage
  • Assessing financial information to make informed decisions on claim outcomes

Your work will be essential in providing empathetic and efficient service to our members when they need us most.

What You'll Learn:

  • The basics of life insurance and its different types
  • How customers can obtain life insurance
  • The legislation behind life insurance policies and assessment timeframes
  • How to assess life insurance claims
  • Medical terminology and conditions to assist in claim assessments

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of life insurance claims from start to finish with the support of our team of specialist claims experts
  • Assess, analyse, calculate, and finalise claims payments
  • Collaborate with health and medical industry specialists
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure compliance
  • Participate in case conferences and peer discussions

Qualifications

Who We're Looking For: 

We're seeking individuals for our teams in MelbourneSydney and Brisbane with transferable skills and a desire for a rewarding career in Life Insurance.

Recent qualifications in Nursing, Allied Health, Medical Administration, Counselling, Exercise Psychology, Accounting, Legal, Business, Finance, and Tax are highly regarded.

We have 2 intakes, one in February 2025, start date 17th Feb, and another in April 2025.  Please specify which intake you are available to join on your application.

Key Skills:

  • Strong communication and empathy
  • Curiosity and a passion for learning
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in crisis management, rehabilitation, or recovery
  • Enjoy working in a phone-based role
