About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to support the delivery of client‑facing projects within our Advisory team based in Sydney.

This role will be involved in the GHG Emissions Reporting (Carbon Accounting) service offering and assist with the delivery of mandatory climate-related reporting. The position has a strong focus on carbon emissions calculations and climate risk and opportunity metrics, and their related disclosure.

This is a client-facing role that will work closely with senior members of the team to provide technical guidance to clients from various industries regarding carbon accounting and naturally grow into broader data and climate-related information disclosures.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Measure and calculate Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions using recognised frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, NGER).
  • Develop and maintain an organisation’s carbon inventory and baseline carbon footprint.
  • Manage, analyse and validate GHG emissions data, including boundaries, emissions factors and activity data.
  • Manage, analyse and validate climate-related metrics and targets to support financial disclosures related to climate.
  • Contribute to performing emissions and carbon readiness assessments for clients to help them align with the requirements under AASB S2 climate reporting framework, including identification and addressing of gaps.
  • Contribute to training and uplifting capability for clients on carbon accounting concepts, for example boundary setting, Scope 3 categories, and emissions methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate emissions insights into relevant climate reporting disclosures.
  • Support the development of decarbonisation pathways and emissions reduction strategies and targets, including with scenario modelling, mitigation and adaption strategies and benchmarking against peers and standards.
  • Preparation of gap analysis & roadmaps in alignment with TCFD recommendations, AASB S2, IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 is desirable.
  • Preparation of voluntary and mandatory sustainability reports.

About You

This role is ideally suited to who is genuinely passionate about building a long-term career in sustainability reporting and wants to make a meaningful difference.

You're analytical in nature and have sound experience in emissions measurement and carbon accounting. This role will play a pivotal role in strengthening and scaling our capability in this rapidly expanding area.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3-4 years of demonstrated experience in GHG accounting or similar field
  • Completed a relevant degree, preferably engineering or finance background.
  • Experience in Scope 1 and 2 emissions under one or more recognised frameworks (e.g. GHG Protocol, NGER, etc), including boundary setting, value chain analysis, calculating emissions, and documenting basis of preparation.
  • Exposure or an understanding of Scope 3 emissions reporting, including calculations, under one or more recognised frameworks (e.g. GHG Protocol, NGER, etc) would be highly regarded
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
