About LEAP Dev

LEAP Dev is the “Software House” powering LEAP Legal Software, the leading provider of Legal Practice Management Solutions in the world. We’re part of ATI Global – one of the largest international LegalTech companies. For more than 30 years, our curiosity and commitment to continual improvement has kept us reimagining productivity tools for lawyers and their staff to support our guiding purpose, to ‘Help lawyers who help people’. The market leading software we develop and support is used by more than 70,000 lawyers and their staff in small and medium sized law firms.

Working alongside our team of passionate high achievers, you’ll join a fast-growing technology business where things seldom stay the same for long. With more than 1000 smart, caring and ambitious ‘LEAPsters’ working together across Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Poland and New Zealand, you’ll find yourself in good company here.

Meet the DevOps team

Our DevOps team supports every product and engineering team across the business. Over more than a decade on AWS, we’ve grown from a small EC2 footprint to managing hundreds of containerised workloads across 40+ AWS accounts and multiple regions.

You’ll join an established, friendly, and capable team that balances structure with autonomy. We work closely with developers, own the infrastructure foundations that power the business, and are constantly improving how our platforms are built and deployed as we scale into new products and markets.

Collaboration is central to how we work. We value curiosity, good judgement, and a willingness to get stuck in. If you have an idea to improve how things run, you’ll be encouraged to share it and help make it happen.

What you'll do

We’re hiring two Junior DevOps Engineers to support multiple development teams across our AWS environment. You’ll work on a broad range of tasks, from managing access and permissions, maintaining and troubleshooting AWS infrastructure, through to supporting the delivery of applications and services that run across multiple AWS services, accounts, and regions.

You’ll gain hands-on experience working at real scale, with exposure to a wide range of AWS services and modern DevOps practices. Supported by close collaboration with our senior engineers and a strong partnership with AWS Enterprise Support, this role offers a genuine opportunity to learn quickly, take on real responsibility, and build a solid foundation for a DevOps career.

To make this happen, you will:

  • Action tickets assigned to you via JIRA. Examples of tickets include:
    • New Service Requests – Deploying new apps, sites, services (ECS, EC2, Lambda, CloudFront/S3, etc.) using custom in-house tools and CICD tools (CodePipeline, TeamCity) into multiple AWS accounts and Regions
    • Troubleshooting – Working together with developers to resolve permissions issues, network access issues, build and deployment errors, application level errors, etc
  • Be the first response to Production incidents during business hours, escalating when needed
  • Be involved with DevOps team projects to improve existing architecture, enhance security and meet best practices
  • Create and maintain documentation of internal processes
  • Be part of the on-call rotation for service outages outside business hours (approximately 1 week in every 10)

What you'll bring

  • Experience in a technical role (e.g. Software Development, IT Support), or a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • Exposure to scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, and/or Bash (Python preferred)
  • An AWS certification (Cloud Practitioner or Associate level preferred)
  • Foundational knowledge of core AWS services such as ECS, EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Route 53, and CloudFormation
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an interest in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and ways of working

You are the type of person who

  • Has a positive, can-do attitude and a strong sense of ownership
  • Is genuinely committed to delivering high-quality service
  • Is curious and open to adopting AI-driven tools and practices within DevOps and AWS workflows
  • Has the flexibility to take on tasks of any size, from small improvements to larger initiatives

LEAP is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential. If you meet some, but not all the requirements above, we encourage you to still submit your application.

Why join LEAP?

  • Your work matters. Helping lawyers help people sits at the heart of everything we do. We solve real world problems that improve and support local, everyday law firms. So they can do their best work for the people in the communities they serve.
  • Make an impact. You won’t be another ‘cog in the wheel’ here. We give full trust and autonomy for you to be heard, to work on big & complex projects – and to make a real difference.
  • Work with a group of authentic, passionate people who love what they do.
  • Well-funded and global. LEAP is the leading provider of Legal Practice Management Solutions across Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and New Zealand. We're part of ATI – one of the largest international LegalTech companies.
  • Flexible and hybrid working. We'd like to find this person in Sydney, but we want you to work in a way that suits you and we're open to flexible arrangements that support you.
  • Grow your career with us. Our founder Christian Beck has been building legal tech businesses for over 30 years. There are opportunities galore to expand your career based on where your interests lie.
