Capability Life Cycle Manager (CLCM)  

The CLCM is integrated into the System Program Office (SPO) and contracted to deliver through-life asset management of Products being supported (PBS). The CLCM performs asset, sustainment and engineering functions to optimise availability and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and minimise risk through life of the PBS. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with Regional Maintenance Centre’s (RMC) to plan maintenance activities and installation of capability upgrades. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with the Design Services Contract (DSC) to plan and execute engineering changes and services. The CLCM delivers functions against the contract scope across the Asset Class Enterprise to support Defence Maritime Capability.

The Opportunity:

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineering professionals and develop practical knowledge across key disciplines including Configuration Management, Certification Management, Logistics Engineering, and Systems Safety Engineering.

This role offers a unique opportunity to build your technical capability, broaden your understanding of Defence sustainment and engineering assurance frameworks, and contribute to the support of critical products and systems. Through mentorship, structured development, and exposure to real-world engineering challenges, you will establish a strong foundation for a long-term engineering career.

Responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment when conducting engineering activities.
  • With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop design solutions and requirements in the context of engineering change management and configuration management.
  • Formulate solutions to problems by working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Learn skills in the use of Engineering applications and tools to enable delivery against engineering activities, including but not limited to, configuration tools, data analysis tools, modelling tools, design tools.
  • Work both within and to the requirements of the Navy Seaworthiness Framework and an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO).
  • Conduct work to the requirements of the Engineering Management Plan.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical)
  • Ability to obtain a Baseline Defence security clearance or higher
  • Must be eligible for ITAR clearance of relevant ship systems

Desired              

  • Experience in Defence / Maritime Environment highly desirable

All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
