About the role

As the Lead Data Analyst, you will lead the development of core parts of EA’s data and code ecosystem – aligning infrastructure investments with strategic priorities, ensuring shared code assets are robust and discoverable, and embedding best practices that scale across teams. You’ll also represent EA in Bank-wide forums on infrastructure and technology, influencing decisions that shape the future of data-driven policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of EA’s core forecasting infrastructure, in line with group strategic priority.
  • Maintain and enhance EA’s critical code assets, particularly group-owned R packages, and partner with other sections to prioritise and uplift specific infrastructure, ensuring alignment to EA’s strategic direction and risk appetite.

  • Expert in R and SQL with experience in R package development, testing, and documentation. Familiarity with reproducible research tools like Shiny and RMarkdown is desirable.
  • Experience in Git-based workflows, branching strategies and release management.

  • Understanding of economic and statistical concepts, and how infrastructure and tooling support forecasting, analysis, and publication workflows.
