In the role of Lead Finance Data Analyst, you will report to the Vice President, Accounting Systems and Data Governance.
We are considering applicants for our Los Angeles, California office.
You will lead the analysis, governance, validation, and integration of finance data used across accounting, reporting, and finance systems. You will partner with Accounting, Finance, Technology, and business teams to define trusted data standards, strengthen SOX-relevant controls, resolve data quality issues, and support changes to financial systems and interfaces. The role combines hands-on data analysis with process and control leadership to help ensure finance data is accurate, complete, timely, traceable, and fit for downstream use. Success will be measured by improved data quality, effective control execution, and reliable delivery of finance data changes across the system landscape.
Core Areas of Responsibility- Finance Data Governance: Establish and maintain finance data definitions, ownership, lineage, critical data elements, data quality rules, and governance standards across source systems, integrations, subledgers, ERP, and reporting environments.
- Data Quality and Validation: Design and execute validation routines, reconciliations, exception monitoring, root-cause analysis, and remediation plans to improve the accuracy, completeness, cutoff, consistency, and traceability of finance data.
- SOX Controls and Auditability: Partner with control owners to design, document, operate, and improve SOX controls over finance data, interfaces, system-generated reports, master data, and change activity; maintain evidence and support audit and testing requests.
- System Integration and Change Delivery: Define finance data requirements and validation criteria for new or changed integrations, interfaces, transformations, and system implementations; coordinate user acceptance testing, cutover, defect resolution, and post-production validation.
- Change Management and Stakeholder Partnership: Assess impacts of data and process changes, coordinate communications, training, and procedures, and lead cross-functional issue resolution to drive adoption while minimizing control, reporting, and operational disruption.
We get excited about candidates, like you, because...
- You have 8+ years of experience in finance data, accounting systems, financial systems analysis, data governance, or related roles, including ownership of complex cross-functional initiatives.
- You have a strong understanding of accounting data flows and financial reporting requirements, including how transactions move from operational systems through integrations and subledgers into the general ledger and reporting environments.
- You have hands-on experience with finance data governance, including data definitions, ownership, lineage, critical data elements, data quality controls, metadata, and issue remediation.
- You have experience designing, executing, or supporting SOX controls over financial systems, interfaces, reports, master data, or data changes, and understand control documentation, evidence, and audit testing expectations.
- You possess advanced data validation and reconciliation skills, including SQL-based analysis and structured testing of large financial datasets.
- You have experience with system integration and data transformation concepts, including source-to-target mapping, interface controls, file- and API-based integrations, error handling, and downstream reconciliation.
- You have led or materially supported system change initiatives, including requirements, user acceptance testing, cutover, post-implementation validation, process documentation, and change management.
- You have experience with ERP and finance platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Concur, or comparable systems.
- You possess strong analytical judgment and can translate accounting, control, and reporting requirements into scalable data and system requirements.
- You have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field; CPA, CISA, or recognized data governance certifications are a plus.
The Accounting Systems and Data Governance team connects accounting requirements, data standards, controls, and technology to support reliable, scalable financial operations.
