About the role
The Lead Product Designer plays a crucial role in shaping and ensuring an innovative user experience and user interface design across the multiple AI Labs product streams. This role exists to innovate on the product design, establish new patterns, explore novel user experiences for generative AI.
The Lead Product Designer role is situated within the Product Design team, reporting to the ANZ Design Manager. This position involves providing design leadership across all product streams, working closely with senior leaders across various departments to guide the product direction and ensure high-quality design output.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the design of intuitive, engaging generative AI experiences for our Labs product.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs to clearly communicate user flows and interactions.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform and refine design decisions.
- Design accessible, responsive interfaces optimised for seamless experiences across devices.
- Leverage existing design systems and brand guidelines to maintain consistency and efficiency.
- Create digital assets to support product and feature launches, including visuals and templates for social media.
- Produce onboarding and demo videos to support user engagement and understanding.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering and Marketing to align on goals.
- Drive cohesion across multiple product streams and teams to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Partner with product managers to uncover broader opportunities that influence strategic design direction.
About you
- Proven track record as a strong individual contributor with a genuine passion for generative AI and innovative user experiences.
- Exceptional communicator, skilled at crafting messaging and delivery to influence decision-making at a group level.
- Strong visual design capabilities, with deep understanding of brand personality, tone of voice, UX, UI and motion design.
- Versatile in various design frameworks and able to adapt or define processes to suit team needs.
- Builds strong partnerships with senior leaders to leverage expertise and gain alignment.
- Confident leading stakeholders to identify and prioritise the right problems to solve.
- Actively fosters a collaborative and supportive design team culture, offering guidance and mentorship.
- 7–10+ years of experience in design, with demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- Skilled in user-centred design principles and familiar with agile methodologies.
- Proficient in industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
