The future of food production hinges on an important question: How do we feed the world’s growing population without compromising our natural resources? Farmers feed our population and hold the keys to vital climate solutions.

At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers to run the most productive and sustainable farms. Farmers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional farming. They’re growing more grass, increasing production and improving the health and wellbeing of their cattle.

We bridge deep tech into farming. Halter enables farmers to remotely shift, virtually fence and proactively monitor their cows’ health and behaviour. Can you imagine watching 500 dairy cows turn in unison and walk calmly towards the milking shed? Or beef cattle, behind virtual fences, happily grazing with their calves? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a mob of cows walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing farming with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry.

People join Halter because they want to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard. We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Bond Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures.

About the Role

At Halter, we’re changing the way the world farms, combining deep thinking, fast execution, and world class engineering to transform agriculture through technology.

As we scale rapidly across global markets, we’re looking for a Lead RF Antenna Engineer to drive innovation in our wireless systems and help shape the future of animal management technology. This is a senior technical leadership role, you’ll own the design, optimisation, and validation of all RF and antenna systems across Halter’s products.

From concept through to mass production, you’ll ensure that our devices perform reliably in challenging real world farm environments. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and external parties to deliver robust wireless communication systems and antenna designs that meet demanding performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.

What your day could look like:

  • Lead the design, simulation, prototyping, and validation of high performance antennas and RF systems for Halter’s wearable and infrastructure products.
  • Define system level RF requirements and architecture in collaboration with firmware, systems, and mechanical teams.
  • Drive electromagnetic simulation, impedance matching, antenna tuning, and over the air performance optimisation.
  • Conduct field testing and data analysis to validate designs under real world conditions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure robust design-for-manufacture and testing of RF assemblies, including travel.
  • Own and maintain RF performance metrics, antenna validation processes, and compliance testing (EMC, regulatory).
  • Mentor and develop other engineers in RF design principles and best practices.
  • Partner with global suppliers and test labs to deliver high-volume production ready antenna solutions.

Who we're looking for:

  • An experienced RF or Antenna Engineer with proven expertise taking antenna systems from concept through to high volume production.
  • Deep understanding of electromagnetic fundamentals, RF propagation, impedance matching, and PCB/integrated antenna design.
  • Hands on experience with RF simulation and analysis tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, ADS, FEKO, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency with test and measurement equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and anechoic chambers.
  • Experience designing RF systems for IoT, wearable, or low power wireless products (BLE, LoRa, GPS, Wi-Fi, sub-GHz).
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where you take ownership and drive results.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (e.g., China, Thailand) to support manufacturing and validation.
  • BE or higher in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related discipline.
