Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Develop and maintain web applications using React for the front-end and Java Spring Boot for the back-end along with working knowledge in Kotlin.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
- Build RESTful APIs and integrate them with front-end components.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Debug and resolve technical issues across the stack.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency.
- Work with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
- Implement security and data protection measures.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and frameworks.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Proficiency in React.js, including state management libraries like Redux or Context API.
- Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and building RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
