This is a remote position. With a sufficient timezone overlap with the team, we're able to hire eligible candidates for this role from any location in Australia.
As a leader within the People Program Team, you will have a unique opportunity to drive the People Team AI-First and People Data Governance strategy. In this role, you will demonstrate innovative thinking, collaborative problem-solving skills, as well as a passion for working in a highly cross-functional environment. You will collaborate with our People CoEs , HRBPs and engineering teams to deliver scalable and intelligent solutions that amplify our impact on Atlassian's most important asset-its people.
In this role you will:

  • Develop the People Team AI-First vision, strategy and roadmap to implement solutions to solve complex business challenges and become a fully AI enabled People Team
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver large scaled programs and partner with Business, Engineering, and AI teams to translate business priorities into AI strategies and delivery plans.
  • Develop our People data governance roadmap in a partnership with People Insights and Engineering to ensure our People Products are compliant against our Data policies
  • Drive our Customer Zero objectives by advocating for feature enhancements across our Atlassian Products as we fully embed our People processes into the Atlassian System of Work.
  • Drive our People Team Customer Zero feedback loop and beta testing for our Atlassian Products to enhance our product offerings for our external customers. This includes influencing our engineering team to ensure the People Team delivery roadmap is prioritised.


  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant work experience across technical program management
  • Experience leadings teams to deliver large-scale transformations across AI and Data Governance
  • Demonstrated experience implementing an organisational AI vision, strategy and roadmap.
  • Proven track record of driving a robust data governance framework and compliance across all our data policies, including access management and role-based access control.
  • Background in AI development, machine learning, process automation, or systems engineering, with the ability to navigate technical details.
  • An API-first mindset and extensive experience with automation tools
  • Excellent verbal, written, and influencing skills (including experience with facilitating meetings and engaging with an executive audience)
  • Managed delivery across multiple business and engineering teams with strong track record driving complex programs and managing interdependent teams.
