Job Description

About the team and role

The People and Corporate Affairs Team is responsible for the airport’s people strategy (including Organisational Culture, Employee Engagement, Leadership Development, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and Talent Management, Belonging, Diversity & Inclusion, Business Partnering, Remuneration, Reward & Benefits, and Human Resources Operations), as well as the airport's Corporate Affairs function (which consist of Media/Brand, Communications, and Stakeholder & Community Engagement).

The Learning & Organisational Development Consultant (L&OD) will manage and facilitate the implementation of organisational development strategies and programs. They will be key in the design, management, delivery and facilitation of learning and organisational development solutions that help to make SYD amazing and support our people to learn and grow.  Focus of work will be across areas including learning, leadership development, culture, BDI, engagement, performance development, talent development, and reward & recognition.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to

  • Design and implement Learning & Development (L&D) and Organisational Development (OD) initiatives to enhance organisational capability, performance, and employee experience.
  • Lead Belonging, Diversity & Inclusion (BDI) efforts through strategic action plans, education campaigns, and cultural change initiatives.
  • Drive the effectiveness of Employee Resource Groups and foster cross-functional collaboration on key people and cultural initiatives.
  • Develop and manage a robust calendar of blended L&D programs tailored to workforce needs.
  • Oversee recognition strategies, culture and engagement action plans, and related initiatives.
  • Design and facilitate workshops on topics such as onboarding, leadership, team building, career development, and BDI.
  • Partner with external providers to deliver high-value workshops and bespoke programs.
  • Conduct employee surveys, analyse data, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and stakeholders to support individual and organisational learning and cultural objectives.
  • Evaluate programs to ensure continuous improvement and cost-effectiveness.
  • Champion participation in volunteering activities and company-wide initiatives like Jobs Fairs and Harmony Day.

About you

You’re a dynamic and experienced L&OD professional with a passion for driving organisational growth and empowering people to succeed. With a degree in HR, business, or equivalent experience, you bring deep expertise in Learning, Organisational Development, and Belonging, Diversity & Inclusion, coupled with a proven track record in designing and delivering impactful leadership development programs.

Your ability to build strong relationships and influence outcomes makes you a natural collaborator who thrives in fast-paced environments. You’re a creative problem-solver, adept at navigating ambiguity and finding innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Highly organised and detail-oriented, you excel at balancing multiple priorities and maintaining a focus on quality and results. Your exceptional communication skills enable you to engage confidently with stakeholders, design and deliver transformative workshops, and champion initiatives that foster inclusion, belonging, and cultural change.
