The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Corporate team in Sydney, supporting a senior Partner and their wider team in a busy, high‑volume practice.

This role is suited to a highly capable assistant who operates as a trusted right‑hand support to senior lawyers. You will manage complex diaries, workflow and competing priorities to enable the practice to operate smoothly in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.

Note: We’re not currently considering university students for this role.

What you’ll do

Working closely with a senior Partner and their team, you will provide high‑level administrative and practice support, including:

  • Proactive diary, inbox and workflow management, anticipating priorities and managing change

  • Acting as a key coordination point across administrative matters

  • Managing correspondence, document production and matter administration to a high standard

  • Coordinating client meetings, calls and travel arrangements with precision

  • Liaising confidently with clients, internal stakeholders and external parties

  • Managing billing processes, including pre-bills, edits, finalisation and cost reporting

  • Supporting the smooth running of the practice by monitoring deadlines and commitments

  • Championing efficient ways of working, including the use of technology and AI tools

  • Collaborating closely with Legal Assistants and Administrative Assistants across the Corporate group
     

What you’ll bring: 

  • Demonstrated experience as a Legal Assistant or senior legal support professional within a legal or professional services environment

  • Strong experience supporting senior stakeholders, with a calm, organised and proactive approach Excellent judgment, discretion and confidence managing sensitive matters Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines

  • Experience with billing, reporting and matter management systems

  • A commitment to mentoring and guiding junior team members

  • A service‑oriented mindset with a genuine commitment to enabling fee earners to focus on client delivery

  • An innovative mindset, curious about AI and emerging technologies
