A Snapshot
As Legal Counsel based in Sydney, you will report to Senior Director – Legal, Corporate, and you will work closely with various other teams and leadership across the APJ region, making your mark in a number of ways:
- You will support and advise on various corporate transaction workstreams and commercial procurement solutions throughout AirTrunk, which will involve working with key business teams to draft, negotiate and finalise various contracting structures across the APJ region, enabling the rapid expansion of AirTrunk data centre developments across APJ.
- You will develop your skills and expertise across a variety of workstreams and practice areas including corporate transactions, banking, operations, information technology, privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, employment and regulatory matters, whilst honing your technical legal skills, commercial acumen and relationship building, negotiation and transaction management skills.
- You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to provide prompt, practical and commercial legal advice to address and mitigate legal risk in support of strategic projects and the continued growth and expansion of the AirTrunk business
Your Day to Day
- Review, negotiate and finalise a wide range of corporate and commercial contracts working across a wide variety of teams, including operations, information technology, corporate services, commercial, treasury and finance teams, whilst providing legal advice that is timely, accurate, practical and commercial to various business units.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of AirTrunk’s business, operations, technologies and services and provide input and support on AirTrunk and the Legal team’s strategic initiatives, including through development of precedents, precedent guidelines, playbooks and business training to facilitate execution of such strategies.
- Advise on variety of workstreams, including corporate transactions, banking & finance, privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, employment and regulatory matters.
- Assist to assess and manage legal and regulatory risks within the corporate transactions, commercial procurement, privacy, cybersecurity and critical infrastructure space, ensuring adherence to laws and regulations across relevant jurisdictions within the APJ region, aligning practices with industry standards.
Requirements:
- Law degree from an accredited law school, with current practising certificate
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a well-regarded national or international law firm.
- Candidates who have strong experience in the areas of commercial procurement and/or corporate transactions with strong commercial acumen will be viewed favourably
- Interest in, and desire to develop knowledge and skills in related workstreams such as privacy, intellectual property, cybersecurity, employment and regulatory matters essential
- Ability to assess and advise on legal risk as part of providing commercial, solution driven advice.
- Excellent drafting, negotiating, transaction management, interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with people from different business teams and locations.
- Enjoys being challenged, has a “can do” attitude, is prepared to go above and beyond and is eager to learn and develop an in-depth knowledge of AirTrunk’s business and operations.
