The Qantas Loyalty Legal team reports to the Group General Counsel, Office of the CEO and works across the Qantas Group, supporting this market leading, global organisation. We’re a high performing team with broad expertise and we can add value and make an impact on the business.
As a Legal Counsel you will be part of the Legal team dedicated to supporting the Qantas Loyalty businesses, with focus on: Ensuring that Qantas’ marketing and other communications comply with Australian Consumer Law, Spam Act and industry best practices, safeguarding the integrity of the Qantas brand. Delivering legal training to clients from time to time. Managing the resolution of escalated customer complaints, including those brought to Fair Trading authorities and consumer tribunals. Drafting and maintenance of compliant disclaimers, product terms and website terms and conditions. Assisting with Qantas Loyalty’s intellectual property portfolio and assisting with contract drafting and reviews.
You’ll have –
- A current Practising Certificate in New South Wales.
- Around 2-4 years PQE, across general commercial law disciplines, with 2 years at a law firm preferred.
- Some experience in reviewing communications for compliance with applicable laws.
- Some experience in advising on Australian Consumer law, Spam Act and Privacy Act will be regarded favourably.
- Exposure to drafting terms and conditions and contracts.
- A desire to build an understanding of your clients’ business needs and commercial drivers.
- Confidence to provide legal advice in an autonomous capacity, but to also work with both in-house and external lawyers
- The ability to work well in a fast paced, busy environment and to juggle competing demands.
