DP World is seeking a Legal Counsel to join the Oceania cluster (part of the APAC region) on a 9-month contract, supporting our growing logistics business. In this role, you will assist in delivering legal guidance across a range of business activities, working closely with senior leadership, internal teams, and external advisors to provide practical legal support while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

This position offers broad exposure across the organisation and the opportunity to contribute to managing legal risk, supporting key business initiatives, and providing commercially focused legal assistance in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including property, procurement, IT, and infrastructure contracts.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on contract law, compliance, construction matters, insurance, and disputes.
  • Prepare and review legal documents and correspondence to support business operations and manage risk.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify legal risks and deliver commercial solutions.
  • Support compliance and risk management initiatives across the business.
  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, contract negotiation, and transaction support.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB), with postgraduate studies considered an advantage.
  • Admission as a Legal Practitioner with a current Practising Certificate.
  • 5 plus years’ post-qualification experience, ideally in-house or in private practice supporting shipping, logistics, transport, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience in corporate and commercial law, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • A team player with the ability to manage multiple legal matters and provide practical, commercially focused advice.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and relevant legislation.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
