Your key responsibilities as a Legal Counsel will include:- Providing timely, practical, and commercially sound legal advice to the Executive Team and Board across a wide range of matters.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating key commercial agreements, including fund manager and superannuation rating agreements, subscriber agreements, employment contracts, confidentiality documents, and service provider arrangements.
- Support Zenith’s compliance and risk management frameworks to ensure adherence to all AFSL, ASIC, and broader regulatory obligations.
- Managing legal and compliance risks by developing, maintaining, and communicating relevant policies, procedures, and internal training.
- Preparing regulatory advice, summaries, and committee papers to support governance, reporting, and decision-making.
- You must be admitted to practice as an Australian Legal Practitioner and eligible to hold a Practising Certificate.
- You must have proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Legal and compliance experience within the financial services sector is highly regarded, ideally in investment research, funds management, or financial planning.
- Strong knowledge of AFSL obligations, ASIC regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks relevant to the Australian financial services environment, also highly regarded.
- You will excel in communication, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate legislation into clear, practical business procedures.
