The Logistics Manager will establish logistics processes, manage vehicle flow, align departmental needs, optimize fleet efficiency, and lead external partnerships, driving operational success at Carma.
At Carma, we’re more than just a car company, we’re on a mission to shake up the Australian automotive industry! As a digital pre-owned car dealership, we’re turning the car buying experience into a hassle-free, seamless journey that customers can truly enjoy. With our diverse and collaborative team managing everything from engineering to marketing and buying to reconditioning in-house, we’re powered by the best people and we’d love for you to come along for the ride.
As the Logistics Lead, you are the architect of Carma’s transport capability. This isn’t a coordination role—it’s a foundational one. You are accountable for establishing the structure, standards, and operating rhythm required to turn fragmented logistics into a scalable powerhouse, ensuring every vehicle flows efficiently, cost-effectively, and predictably across our entire network.
What you’ll be doing:
- Build the function: Establish the structure, standards, and operating rhythm required to turn fragmented logistics into a scalable powerhouse.
- Own the movement: Take full accountability for end-to-end vehicle flow across inbound, outbound, and inter-site movements.
- Align the network: Partner closely with Buying, Production, and Delivery teams to ensure logistics capacity is perfectly synced with business demand.
- Master the schedule: Plan and manage daily site schedules, balancing urgency with fleet utilisation and service levels.
- Optimise the Fleet: Manage internal trucks and drivers to ensure maximum efficiency, compliance, and readiness at all times.
- Manage external partners: Lead third-party transport providers to improve reliability, responsiveness, and total cost outcomes.
- Solve for the "why": Use data and dashboards to identify inefficiencies early and lead root-cause analysis to fix recurring flow issues.
Success in this role is defined by creating a department that runs predictably, flows consistently, and improves over time without reliance on individuals.
Okay, let’s talk about you:
- Strategic builder: You have a proven track record of creating logistics processes and systems from scratch in high-growth environments.
- Operational expert: 5+ years of experience in logistics or fleet operations with a deep understanding of routing and scheduling.
- Cross-functional partner: Ability to work across departments to align complex logistics requirements with broader company goals.
- Commercial grit: You are data-driven with a strong ability to manage cost-per-unit and drive overall operational efficiency.
- Hands-on operator: A proactive problem-solver who doesn't wait for instructions and thrives on driving operational results.
- Agile operator: You thrive in fast-paced settings and are comfortable moving between high-level strategy and ground-level execution.
- The essentials: Strong organisational skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and a valid, clean NSW Driver’s Licence.
What’s in it for you?
- We wouldn’t be a car business if we didn’t give you some $$ off our Carma cars, parts and NRMA cover.
- Join our high-performing, forward-thinking team and help shake up car buying in Australia.
- Join a team that values quality as much as quantity — we believe in working hard, having fun and delivering an exceptional product.
At Carma, we’re all about fostering an amazing culture, where you can bring your best self to work! We value collaboration, innovation and having a laugh at work. Plus, we’re committed to diversity, inclusion and safe work practices, so no matter your background or experience (or car brand of choice!) we’d love to hear from you. Please let us know if you need any reasonable adjustments during the interview process.
