We’re building a reputation as the place to be in Defence. With strong local management, a sound investment, and a fresh approach, we’re on an exciting trajectory and building unique capability. Leveraging the kind of leading-edge US capabilities and technology most can only imagine, our close-knit 800-strong team is busy delivering World-leading solutions to safeguard Australia’s future. And, together, we’re growing a business where everyone contributes and everyone matters.

Northrop Grumman Australia provides the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) with through-life support for its fleet of KC-30A Multi-role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft—a derivative of the Airbus A330-200. The platform is a trusted and proven asset and the program is continually growing in capability and expertise.

Your Role

As a Logistics Quality Assurance Specialist reporting to the Supply Operations Manager, your responsibilities will be critical and multifaceted. Primarily, you will identify and investigate Quality (Defect) Notifications pertaining to non-conforming Contractor Managed Commonwealth Assets (CMCA) and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) entering or stored in Defence warehouses. This pivotal role encompasses the duties of a Unit Inspection Officer (UIO) as outlined in the Electronic Supply Chain Manual (ESCM). Additionally, you will manage and coordinate the disposal of KC-30A CMCA and GFE, adopting the responsibilities of a Disposal Manager.

Your tasks will include the inspection and reception of Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) owned products in alignment with ESCM standards, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, raising Disposal Surveys as per Department of Defence (DoD) policies, resolving discrepancies to facilitate timely transactions, monitoring and updating inventory via relevant Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and supporting general warehousing duties as needed. Strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential as you will frequently coordinate with internal and external parties to optimise processes and compliance. Your role will be instrumental in enhancing process efficiencies and supporting the sustainment of Authorised to Fit Products through diligent obsolescence management.

About You

Your background demonstrates a rich tapestry of experience in Spares Inventory Management and Logistics Management within the Defence environment, specifically with a focus on aeronautical products. You possess deep knowledge and practical experience in the inspection, receipt, and disposal of Commonwealth-owned products. Your proficiency with in-service Supply support of Defence aeronautical products is well-established, and you are adept in using MILIS, CAMM2, SAP, or similar Inventory/Maintenance Management Systems. Your familiarity with Defence Supply and Technical Regulations and inventory management policies further qualifies you for this role.

Additionally, your strong stakeholder engagement skills have consistently enabled effective communication and collaboration with diverse groups, ensuring alignment and compliance with operational objectives. As a strong team player who can also function independently, you have proven your ability to self-manage and collaborate effectively within larger groups. This role is designed for someone who is not just seeking a job, but a pivotal career opportunity in a challenging and rewarding environment.
