If so, consider a role with Optiver as a Macro Strategist. We are seeking someone who can collaborate with our traders to react to emergent market themes and developments. Whether it’s a catalyst such as a presidential election or an unexpected Federal Reserve interest rate hike, we need the best insight and analysis to perform. WHO WE ARE:

Optiver’s Sydney office is one of the primary players within Asian markets, trading a wide range of financial products. As an active participant on the Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan exchanges, we act as Optiver’s APAC head office. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

At Optiver, you’ll work with our global team of analysts to maintain fundamental coverage of Asian equities and indices. Reporting to the Senior Macro Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Producing commentary and analysis of overnight / intra-day news developments
  • Collaborating with traders to translate developments in the real world into trading decisions
  • Political and economic scenario modelling in the context of options pricing and trading
  • Data driven fundamental analysis of emerging themes in financial markets

 

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, quantitative finance, or engineering. Masters or PhD highly regarded.
  • Strong quantitative skillset paired with creative problem-solving abilities
  • 3-8 years of financial markets work experience, ideally as a macro analyst at a proprietary trading firm or hedge fund, or as a macro economist/ strategist on the sell-side.
  • Experience in options pricing and volatility trading highly regarded.
  • Experience in python programming highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
