About the role

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our NSW Finance team and provide management accounting and administrative support to the Commercial Manager. This role will support accurate financial reporting, effective cost management and the achievement of profitability targets across the business. You will work closely with operational leaders and Finance stakeholders, providing meaningful analysis and practical financial insights to support informed decision-making. You will be part of a collaborative and committed team, where your attention to detail, commercial awareness and ability to build strong stakeholder relationships will be highly valued.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing month-end revenue, wage, subcontractor and other cost accruals

  • Preparing accurate monthly, periodic and ad-hoc financial reports

  • Completing profit and loss analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and financial commentary

  • Analysing labour costs, revenue and financial variances to support informed business decisions

  • Preparing client costings and reviewing costings completed by operational managers

  • Providing financial and administrative support to the Commercial Manager, Finance team and operational stakeholders

Skills & experience

  • A minimum of three years’ relevant accounting experience within a corporate environment

  • CPA, CA or CIMA qualification, or currently working towards completion

  • Sound knowledge of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, general ledgers and corporate reporting

  • Demonstrated experience in management accounting, cost accounting and financial analysis

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong competency using accounting and financial reporting systems

  • Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with key stakeholders
