Description

BizCover is on the lookout for a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Management Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team! If you have a passion for numbers and thrive in a dynamic environment, you could be the perfect fit for this role.

In this position, you’ll be responsible for the full range of accounting functions, primarily focused on working closely with relevant stakeholders to prepare and distribute financial and management accounts on a timely basis, and to continually enhance financial processes. Your expertise will help us maintain our reputation as a leader in the SME business insurance market.

Contract- 15 months fixed term contract

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of the general ledger, including associated balance sheet reconciliations (primarily for the AU business)
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly management reporting packs
  • Conducting variance analysis and identifying causes of discrepancies
  • Preparation and lodgment of BAS and other statutory lodgments (including payroll tax, workers’ compensation, etc.)
  • Monthly reconciliation of the NZ and AU trust accounts
  • Cash flow management and reporting
  • Assisting with budgeting and budgeting processes
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual FBT return in conjunction with our external accountants
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards
Requirements
  • Relevant degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce
  • Minimum of 3-4 years' experience in a similar accounting role
  • CPA/CA qualification or in progress is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial tools
  • Basic SQL knowledge is highly desirable
  • Experience using a variety of systems and software, including MYOB, SQL and PowerBI
  • A proactive attitude with a solutions-focused mindset
