About the team
We are seeking an experienced leader to join the Analysis and Policy area of the Note Issue Department. This is an exciting time to be working on cash-related policy, supporting the RBA’s strategic priorities and public policy objectives for an industry that is evolving.
The Analysis and Policy area has recently grown into two teams which are: Analysis and Policy (Distribution) and Analysis and Policy (Quality). As the successful candidate, you will lead one of the two teams.
About the role
You will help lead and enable a team of analysts, working on a range of priority topics related to the cash distribution system, banknote quality and the future of money. Key to this role will be the development of capabilities within the team and the management of workflows.
The role will involve producing high-quality analysis and policy advice, collaborating with other RBA teams and engaging with industry stakeholders and other policy agencies. Your ability to foster employee engagement and support an open and dynamic team culture will be crucial to your success.
Further to this, you will:
Create and foster a culture aligned to the RBA’s open and dynamic cultural ambition, enabling an environment for high levels of employee engagement and achievement.
Lead, guide and develop your team and individuals within your teams to effectively achieve Note Issue’s goals.
Contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership of Note Issue Department, sharing accountability with other leaders for overall performance of deliverables and outcomes.
Provide high-quality analysis, advice and briefing materials that contribute to the organisation's strategic goals. Execute effective work plans.
Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and collaborate effectively to support and enhance analysis and outcomes.
Provide proactive and effective communication, encouraging multilevel feedback and fostering a culture of openness and trust.
Ensure operational accountability in regards to people management, budget, processes and risk management
Foster an environment of continuous improvement. Lead the implementation of policies, systems and process changes.
About you
We are looking for a thoughtful leader who is passionate about public policy. Given the nature of the work in the section and department, you will bring with you:
strong critical thinking skills to guide and produce analysis on complex policy questions and issues
good organisational and time management skills
a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with the intended audience in mind
experience in leading people and coaching junior staff
strong stakeholder management skills
relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, or related disciplines
