About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to play a leadership role in the Marketing and Communications team’s proactive planning and delivery of the firm’s go to market activities particularly for areas of strategic focus.

This full time, fixed term parental leave contract, commencing in early July 2026 for a 12 month period, is based in Sydney.

Our team 

Our National Clients & Markets communications team is made up of a dynamic group of marketing and communication professionals who are passionate about the development and execution of strategies and activities to promote and enhance the BDO brand and meet the needs of our clients. You’ll be recognised and valued within a supportive, national team and have the flexibility to work from home and in the office.  

Key priorities  

Day-to-day, you will: 

  • Nurture, lead and manage a high-performing  service team advising a portfolio of BDO’s national business areas and Sydney office priorities;  

  • Mentor and guide junior team members in the creation, approval and distribution of content; 

  • Develop and deliver the go-to-market plans for a range of portfolio areas across the firm, ensuring alignment to BDO’s national strategy;

  • Proactively identify, deliver and report on communication campaigns and opportunities for portfolio areas;

  • Collaborate and engage directly with other Clients & Markets functional areas, including Client Experience and Business Development, to ensure successful delivery aligned to the client journey; 

  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including with BDO leaders and relevant teams across the firm – locally and nationally;

  • Provide on-the-ground communication support for the Sydney Executive Leadership Team to support the local firm strategy and office priorities. 

About you 

This position is suited to an individual with: 

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing or communications, ideally within professional services or complex corporate organisations. 

  • Strong stakeholder management capability, with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders and Partners in complex environments.

  • Excellent people management ability and experience, including coaching, capability uplift and developing talent within the team.

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications or marketing, or a related discipline.
