Following the completion of a comprehensive Strategic Review, on Wednesday 8 May 2024 it was announced that Perpetual Limited (Perpetual) would become a standalone Asset Management business. As a result, Perpetual has entered into an agreement with an affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. (together with its affiliates, (KKR)) who will acquire 100% of the Corporate Trust and Wealth Management businesses.

About the role

Working with Perpetual’s Anti-Money Laundering & Counter-Terrorism Financing Compliance Officer (AMLCO) to maintain and strengthen the Financial Crime Frameworks to ensure Perpetual executes its strategy in accordance with all regulatory requirements and supporting the business to ensure that key Financial Crime Compliance risks and obligations are effectively identified, mitigated and managed.

About the role

As a Manager, Financial Crime you will:

  • Ensuring that key financial crime compliance risks are effectively managed and mitigated, specifically fraud, scams, bribery and corruption, and sanctions.

  • maintaining Programs and Policies, focusing primarily on AML/CTF, AB&C, Sanctions, FATCA/CRS and Fraud Management, to ensure compliance with the applicable regulations

  • Strengthening and maintaining the fraud management framework, including internal controls, and implementing uplifts as needed

  • Providing financial crime advice to the business

  • Managing AUSTRAC reporting obligations (including SMRs and Compliance Reporting)

  • Coordinating of Perpetual’s response to relevant regulatory/legislative change initiatives (e.g., AML/CTF, Sanctions or FATCA/CRS reforms, and other reforms with associated impacts, including incorporating relevant regulatory guidance and feedback)

  • Assisting in further developing a risk assessment framework for AML/CTF key risk factors, including independent assessment of risks and the adequacy and effectiveness of controls  

About you

  • 5+ years’ experience in financial crime compliance roles financial services industry experiences essential

  • Knowledge and experience in Financial Crime Compliance within the corporate trustee, wealth & asset management industry

  • Knowledge and background in fraud management and AB&C are highly desirable

  • Excellent communicator and relationship manager

  • Proven ability to be results-oriented (can-do attitude) and drive good stakeholder outcomes

  • Some operational or enterprise risk management experience within a financial services environment

  • Good written and oral communication
