How you’ll make an impact:

  • Provide legal guidance to the company including providing direction and guidance on projects in partnership with other team members.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate business contracts and public tenders. Partner with business units and functions in Australia and New Zealand; lead the implementation of contract templates, including updating templates according to company guidelines, laws or legal requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Regularly and proactively advise business teams and functions on areas of law including but not limited to contracts, construction, employment, privacy, dispute resolution etc. and developments applicable to Edwards operations in Australia and New Zealand; Review transactions and interactions with healthcare professionals; and provide appropriate legal guidance to internal stakeholders
  • Provide legal guidance to the company including providing direction and guidance on project teams to execute tactical projects and/ or initiatives
  • Other incidental duties

What you'll need (Required):

  • Juris Doctor or equivalent in Law degree, Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school, 1 Year experience Legal/ business preferred
  • Other: in University law degree or equivalent, 5 years experience Legal/ business required
  • Extensive knowledge of own area within legal discipline while contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards
  • Excellent analytical, detail-oriented and information seeking skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Expert understanding of related aspects of legal processes and/or systems
  • Must demonstrate to Legal Standards

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Relevant industry experience (e.g., medical device, pharmaceuticals, etc.) or in highly regulated environments
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Represent leadership on projects within a specific area interfacing with project managers and legal team
  • Consult in project setting within specific area
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
