The opportunity

Are you an experienced financial crime professional looking for a dynamic role with variety, responsibility, and impact? QBE is seeking a Manager, Financial Crime Advice to manage the day-to-day second-line elements of QBE’s Financial Crime Risk Management framework. This role involves providing high-quality advice, support, and challenge to the business on financial crime types including sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery & corruption, and AML/CTF.

Your new role

In this role, you will:

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial crime risk management and compliance programmes 
  • Provide technical advice, training, and awareness activities on sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery & corruption, and AML/CTF to support business decision-making
  • Identify financial crime risks and provide expertise and advice on prevention and control improvements 
  • Conduct due diligence and provide high-quality advice on referrals

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing financial crime advice in a corporate environment ideally financial services industry
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to produce strong written products, including policy and procedures documentation
  • A collaborative and easy-going team player who enjoys proactively networking across the business.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with financial crime typologies impacting the general insurance industry
  • Financial crime compliance/risk management experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as law, intelligence, or financial crime typologies
  • Professional qualifications from organisations like ACAMS or the Governance Institute of Australia
