About the role
Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, you will lead a team of professional staff responsible for all aspects of the Bank’s financial statements and taxation reporting obligations, and provision of various financial, accounting and taxation advice to executives and stakeholders across the Bank.
You will work closely with peers in Finance and across the Bank, and collaborate with the Bank’s external auditor, Note Printing Australia (a wholly owned subsidiary), various Commonwealth entities and relevant professional service providers.
Specifically, you will:
Lead the team responsible for:
preparing the Banks financial statements and overseeing its accounting policies
overseeing the Bank’s GST and FBT reporting obligations
preparing the Bank’s annual climate-related disclosure
providing various financial, accounting and taxation advice to the executive and stakeholders across the Bank.
People leadership responsibilities for a team of five professional staff, including oversight of their ongoing development and growth.
Provide subject matter expertise, coaching, training and guidance to the team and relevant stakeholders to ensure the Bank’s reporting obligations are met.
Manage key relationships supporting the Bank’s financial and taxation reporting obligations.
About you
7 years + experience in a Financial Reporting or equivalent role, preferably within banking or financial services.
Demonstrated expertise in application of accounting standards and development of accounting policies.
Demonstrated expertise in application of GST and FBT reporting obligations.
Practical application of climate-related disclosure requirements
Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance and accounting, and qualified member of a professional accounting body.
