An exciting opportunity is available within our Group Statutory & Regulatory Reporting team to join as a Manager Group Systems Accounting on a 12 month secondment/contract.

Financial Services partner with all areas of CommBank to specialist advice, support and services in finance, audit, treasury, property, procurement, climate strategy and investor relations. 

 

Within Financial Services, the Group Statutory & Regulatory Reporting (S&RR) team plays a vital role in the financial operations of the Group. The team is responsible for statutory, prudential and statistical reporting to APRA, RBA and ABS, Pillar 3 reporting, and other regulatory obligations. The team’s areas of focus include: 

  • Group Reporting – Statutory external financial reporting and consolidation of the Group’s general ledger 

  • Accounting Policy – Ensuring the Group has adequate accounting policies to support external reporting requirements and business unit support for complex transactions 

  • Regulatory Reporting – Ensuring that the Group’s financial and regulatory reports comply with the relevant regulations and standards 

 

Do work that matters 

The purpose of this role is to support the strategic agenda for S&RR by effectively managing critical financial systems that drive the Group’s statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including management reporting. 

 

Your responsibilities will be varied, covering the operations involved in the successful delivery of the Annual Report, Profit Announcements, Basel III Pillar 3, and other management reporting. 

  

To achieve these outcomes, you will collaborate extensively with the broader S&RR team, the Group Financial Controls team, and the finance teams of each CBA Group Business Unit.

This role is wide reaching and not prescriptive in every sense. Discretion and sound judgment is critically important. The role includes, however is not limited to: 

  • Administer the Oracle Cloud EPM suite, including the Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS) and Narrative Reporting modules 

  • Monitor and maintain essential financial controls 

  • Deliver financial systems training for the group's finance community 

  • Implement change management strategies for financial system enhancements 

  • Focus on the continuous improvement agenda of the Group Reporting team, emphasising accuracy, timeliness, and functionality 

  • Offer advisory support on reporting process improvements and related projects 

  • Contribute to fostering a strong and vibrant team culture 

 

We’re interested in hearing from people who have: 

  • Excellent commercial acumen  

  • Experience with Oracle EPM, FCCS, Narrative Reporting, SQL and database administration will be looked upon favourably 

  • Understanding of financial system data flows and related operations 

  • Familiar working with large datasets 

  • Advanced Excel skills for financial modelling and analysis 

  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, with demonstrated ability to draw insights from analysis 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 

  • Exceptional attention to detail 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously 

  • Innovative and able to drive results 

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or an equivalent business-related discipline 

  • Accounting qualification – CA or CPA
