About the role 
 

We’re looking for a Manager, Partnerships & Sponsorships to lead our national approach to partnerships, sponsorships and community grants, ensuring our social impact activity is strategic, credible and delivers meaningful outcomes.

 

This is a highly influential role where you’ll work across markets and teams to build trusted partnerships, bring impact stories to life, and ensure consistent, best‑practice delivery across the organisation.

 

Reporting to the Director, Social Impact, you will set the framework, guide governance, and work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to maximise impact and value. You will also play a key role in activation and storytelling, collaborating with the market based Public Affairs teams and Communications to showcase the positive difference our partnerships make for our communities.

Day-to-day, you will: 

  • Support the development and delivery of Transurban’s national social impact strategy
  • Create a consistent, principled approach to partnerships, sponsorships and community grants by aligning all activity to the Social Impact Frameworks and decision matrices
  • Lead the delivery of impact outcomes across markets and manage key partnerships and sponsorships end‑to‑end
  • Implement evaluation frameworks to measure outcomes and continuously improve impact
  • Lead Transurban’s annual Community Grants program nationally, assess grant applications and make recommendations to senior leaders
  • Work with the broader PAC team to deliver high‑quality activations that maximise community and brand value
  • Partner with Communications to develop and deliver impact storytelling and campaigns
  • Build trusted relationships with external partners, community leaders and social impact organisations
  • Stay abreast of changing expectations in the external environment as it relates to social impact and social sustainability
  • Contribute to projects that strengthen Transurban’s social license and community outcomes 

 

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: 

  • Significant experience managing partnerships, sponsorships or social impact programs
  • Demonstrated experience working within governance frameworks
  • Tertiary qualifications in partnership brokering, social work or a related discipline will be highly regarded
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills with a particular focus on understanding and unpacking context in a complex operating environment
  • Ability to think strategically and act pragmatically
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and presentation capability
  • Experience collaborating across sectors to achieve shared impact outcomes
  • A strategic thinker who is an outcomes‑focused partnerships professional with the ability operate confidently in complex environments
  • Demonstrated credibility, strong judgement and the ability to influence at all levels
