Manager – Payment Technical Sales

The Everyday Business Banking team supports a full spectrum of customers’ needs from the smallest businesses to the largest corporates. Merchant Solutions support our clients to operate and grow their business, through the provision of innovative payment solutions that help them better engage with their customers and suppliers. We are accountable for the end-to-end business customer experience and the delivery of analytical capabilities to support our business customers.
Do Work That Matters
As a Manager – Payment Technical Sales you will partner with Commonwealth Banks Enterprise Merchant management teams working closely to design and deliver solutions. You will be responsible for enhancing the Commonwealth Banks market share across its suite of merchant payment acceptance and acquiring solutions. Working within the Merchant team, this role is a key in delivering our sales strategy. Preferred candidates will carry both ecommerce technical and business acumen and leverage these skills to support sales transformation efforts engaging at C suite.
You will be responsible for:
- Partnering with the front line teams to build and drive solution focussed sales opportunities
- Drive day-to-day pipeline management, operational excellence and execution
- Industry expert in payments and e-commerce
- Build strong and active cross functional relationships across the Large Enterprise Sales and support teams
- Become a CommBank product evangelist, leading value-based conversations with partners
- Build credibility as a ‘thought-leader’ representing CommBank in merchant engagements
- Identify and lead transformational shifts in our customers
- Lead e-commerce solution selling, engaging at C level to support the front line teams opportunity discovery and acceleration
- Drive cross-team collaboration across our internal and external customers

- Possess both business acumen expertise and industry knowledge to connect how customer business issues impact their payment environments
- Deep understanding of the Australian Payments landscape, both merchant acquiring and payment gateways
- Experience with solution based sales. Payments and or SAAS preferred. Dealing with large complex customers problems
- Track record of exceeding individual quotas/targets
- Successful management of large-scale, complex customer engagements with large matrixed organisations
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to manage diverse stakeholders.
- Passionate about technology, with a hunger to continually learn and grow
- Excellent Communicator. C Suite communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Experience within payments or E-Commerce environment/fintech background advantageous
