  • Play a central role in supporting Flight Operations performance, transformation and value‑driven initiatives for the business and customers.
  • Permanent full-time position based in Mascot, Sydney

Reporting to Head of Programs and Performance, the Manager Program and Initiatives role will lead program management of strategic and transformational projects/initiatives within the flight operations portfolio, with specific focus in Sustainability, Base Operations and Fleet EIS. The role will work in close partnership with the Head of Programs and Performance and other Flight Operations leaders, to support the identification, development, and evaluation of project proposals and business cases, as well as the scoping and delivery of priority projects to ensure they deliver value for the Group and Flight Operations. 

The role is expected to develop and manage the overarching program governance, the readiness plan and work with all business units to ensure a coordinated, safe, timely and outcome driven program for all key projects. This role is also responsible for removing any blockers that are prohibiting the relevant operational teams from meeting key milestones. Acting as a key liaison between Flight Operations and other business partners, the Manager facilitates stakeholder engagement, tracks progress against objectives and assists in resolving issues that may impact delivery. This position plays an important role in support Flight Operations performance and transformation initiatives that deliver value for the business and customers.

What you’ll bring to the role: 

  • Strong program and project management capability, with experience delivering strategic or transformational initiatives
  • Ability to plan, scope and execute projects effectively, ensuring clear milestones, governance and readiness across multiple business units.
  • Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to engage, influence and align senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work cross‑functionally, connecting teams and ensuring consistency across business unit processes.
  • High-level analytical and problem‑solving capability, with a practical approach to evaluating options and making sound decisions.
  • A track record of successfully implementing projects that deliver measurable value.
