Job Description

  • 18‑month full‑time fixed‑term role based in Mascot, Sydney 
  • Lead the delivery of a high-profile crew training program within Flight Operations at Qantas. 
  • Play a key role in embedding sustainable, compliant processes for long-term success. 
     

Are you ready to play a central role in shaping the future of Flight Operations? We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Manager Programs, Flight Operations to lead the governance, coordination and delivery of crew training programs. This is a unique opportunity to drive strategic change, ensure regulatory alignment, and embed sustainable, compliant processes that will have a lasting impact on our business. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of the crew training programs, integrating workstreams across Cabin Crew, Flight Training, Workforce Planning, Systems, Policy and Regulatory Affairs. 
  • Manage program governance, planning, risk, reporting and stakeholder engagement to ensure all remediation activities are delivered in line with CASA‑approved plans and timeframes. 
  • Act as a key liaison between Flight Operations, business partners and regulatory leads, supporting engagement with CASA and ensuring readiness for regulatory feedback and audits. 
  • With the support of a Change Manger, ensure change management and business readiness activities are in place to enable, new training and checking processes to be embedded into business-as-usual operations. 
  • Identify and resolve roadblocks, escalate risks and issues, and ensure program objectives are met. 
  • Champion best practice project management, transformation and continuous improvement disciplines. 

What you’ll bring: 

  • Extensive and proven experience in program or project management, ideally within aviation, safety‑critical, or highly regulated environments. 
  • Strong project management expertise, with a track record of delivering complex, multi‑stakeholder programs. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse teams. 
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritise and execute projects effectively, ensuring clear milestones, governance and readiness. 
  • High‑level analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a practical approach to overcoming challenges and driving outcomes. 
  • Experience in change management and embedding sustainable processes. 
  • Tertiary qualifications in business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
