Market Sector Director – Buildings

KBR is seeking an accomplished and visionary Market Sector Director – Buildings to lead our national Buildings segment. This senior leadership role sits at the forefront of our Infrastructure Solutions Australia business, driving strategic growth, sector leadership, and exceptional delivery outcomes across a diverse and high‑value portfolio.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will lead and implement the Buildings market strategy across all market sub-segments - Health, Education, Corrections, Aviation, Events, Commercial, Industrial, land‑development sectors etc – also spanning all engineering, specialty and advisory disciplines. You will also take ownership of client relationships, project portfolio performance (including profit and loss), and ultimately own the success of one of KBR’s most strategically important market segments.

About the Role

The Market Sector Director – Buildings is responsible for leading and governing a multi‑disciplinary, national portfolio encompassing multiple smaller projects through to larger major programs exceeding $1B in capital value. This role requires someone motivated to lead and grow a team and an existing successful business for the longer term; it is ideally suited to an executive level thinker capable of both shaping long‑term strategy and driving short‑term delivery excellence.

You will:

  • Develop and implement a multi‑year sector strategy to expand KBR’s market presence and drive profitable growth.
  • Lead business development, identify new opportunities, and secure new contracts—often personally acting as Project Director or Bid Leader for strategic pursuits.
  • Build and sustain relationships with senior‑level government and private‑sector stakeholders, representing KBR as a thought leader within the industry.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of the buildings project portfolio, ensuring commercial, risk, schedule, safety and client‑satisfaction outcomes are achieved.
  • Shape a high‑performance culture, attract and retain top talent, and champion KBR’s values across our Australian offices.
  • Drive financial performance, ensuring revenue, job income, overhead recovery, and business unit  income targets are consistently met or exceeded.

Key Skills & Experience

We are seeking a leader with:

  • Proven credibility in the buildings sector or broader property or built environment, ideally at the executive level.
  • Capability to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary teams across multiple states.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including P\&L accountability.
  • Demonstrated success in strategy development, client engagement, and winning significant work.
  • A track record of delivering complex projects and navigating risk in high‑value portfolios.
  • Advanced leadership capabilities including influencing, inspiring others, facilitating change and coaching teams.
