Sony Pictures Television (SPT) – one of the television industry’s leading content providers, producing, distributing and carrying programming worldwide in every genre and for every platform. In addition to managing one of the industry’s largest libraries of award-winning feature films, television shows and formats, SPT is home to a thriving global content business, operating 24 wholly owned or joint-venture production companies in 12 countries, as well as linear and digital channels around the world.

The Sony Pictures Television ANZ team have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Intern to join their team on a 6-month, part time placement starting in January 2026, with potential to extend for a further 6 months. The marketing division manage the go-to-market strategy for all Sony Pictures Entertainment features and television series in Australia and New Zealand. This placement will be based in our Sydney office where you will work 3 days per week with the SPT Marketing team and will report to the Senior Marketing Manager ANZ.

We are seeking a candidate with a genuine passion for marketing, who is conscientious, a team player, and eager to go the extra mile. This internship offers a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of distribution marketing and take the first step in your career!

What you will do:

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development and management of Marketing Plans including briefing Media, Publicity and Promotional agencies to deliver best-in-class campaigns.

  • Support and coordinate all creative materials – from briefing and approvals, through to delivery for presentations, media, PR and clients

  • Assist the marketing team with the management of all social media platforms including maintaining the content calendar, sourcing and posting content and tracking performance

  • Support client screenings and events in Sydney and Auckland including invites, venue sourcing, liaising with L.A., design coordination, RSVPs, and logistics

  • Manage updates to the company website and YouTube channel, ensuring latest titles and assets are accurately represented and aligned with marketing campaigns.

  • Manage the client asset hub and distribute marketing materials via e-blasts to keep clients up to date with the latest trailers and promotional assets.

  • Maintain and update digital contact databases and media lists to support campaign outreach, including invitations to screenings, premieres, and press kit distribution.

  • Coordinate allocation of in-season passes and merchandise including online competitions, influencer send-outs, and desk drops

  • Raise and log marketing Purchase Orders when necessary, ensuring timely submission of vendor invoices for processing and payment.

  • Use your creative flair to help create and/or adapt presentations for internal and external meetings

  • Maintain internal tracking documents, update marketing planning tools, and schedule key team meetings including note-taking where required.

  • Proactively contribute to the team through attending relevant internal and external meetings, staying informed about industry trends and contacts, and seeking opportunities to improve office systems and processes

  • Support Marketing Director and Department as required

What you need:

  • University degree in marketing or a related field preferred; majors in marketing, media or communications are an advantage

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication, with excellent grammar and punctuation

  • Good presentation skills, planning and analytical capability

  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite and great aesthetics

  • Photoshop and/or Canva skills desirable

  • Ideally a regular user of social media with confidence using different platforms and staying across the latest trends

  • A proactive “can-do” attitude with the ability to use initiative when working independently or within a team

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with the flexibility to multitask, adapt to shifting priorities and consistently meet deadlines

  • In order to enable us to meet statutory and regulatory obligations of the Australian immigration system you must have the appropriate immigration permission needed to work and reside in Australia for the duration of the employment.

  • Committed and available to work 3 days per week for an initial 6-month duration from January 2026 and available for a potential 6 month extension if required.

  • Last but not least, must have a love for film and television shows!!
