Job Description

Our client’s success is our success. And you make it happen
Ever tapped your phone to buy a morning coffee, or made a purchase from your favourite online store? Chances are, we’ve made it happen.

At Cuscal, we’ve been at the forefront of payments innovation for almost 60 years, enabling seamless, secure solutions that millions of Australians rely on every day. From launching Australia’s first ATM to being the first certified Australian fast payments Payer and Initiator in 2022, we’ve always pushed boundaries — and we’re not stopping now.

We are a listed public company (ASX:CCL) and one of five licensed banks in Australia with full direct connectivity and production capability across all domestic payment systems. Whilst the major banks leverage this capability for their consumer and business clients, our B2B model focuses on enabling other banks, fintech’s and corporates to deliver innovative and competitive payment and digital solutions to their clients and customers.

We are looking for a Marketing Operations and Events Coordinator to join our Brand & Marketing Team.

Marketing Operations is responsible for optimising the efficiency, scalability, and performance of the marketing function. Reporting to the Marketing Operations Manager, this role is the operational backbone of the team, coordinating planning and operational activities to ensure performance and execution in line with our strategic objectives. Responsibilities for the role sit across three key areas

1) Marketing Planning and Budget Management

  • Support strategic planning cycles, including annual planning, quarterly reviews, and resource forecasting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Business Development, Client Partnerships, Technology, Product and Finance) to align marketing operations with broader business goals.
  • Create aligned marketing budgets and manage budget alignment, coordinating team activities to match spend to plan, and procurement processes, and vendor relationships to deliver to plan.

2) Workflow management and performance reporting

  • Establish and manage “front door” and creative approval processes to streamline and track work through the team, improving efficiency, quality and internal customer experience.
  • Establish and manage marketing performance reporting and dashboards, providing insights and recommendations to optimise efficiency and ROI.

3) Process, Risk and Team Administration

  • Lead the development, documentation and continuous improvement of marketing processes, workflows, and governance frameworks.
  • Champion data quality, compliance (e.g., privacy laws), and best practices in marketing governance.
  • Be the lead contact for company wide risk and compliance activities, on behalf of marketing

4) Budget Management

  • Monitor and track marketing spend across vendors, platforms, and internal initiatives, providing regular financial reports and variance analysis to leadership
  • Lead and improve annual and quarterly budget planning and monthly budget reporting for marketing operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and resource allocation across campaigns, events, and tools. Oversee merchandise inventory and distribution budgets and approach.
  • Manage and improve marketing processes and approaches for payment workflows and approvals, ensuring timely processing of invoices, contract compliance, and reconciliation with finance teams

About You:

You’re a detail-oriented team player who thrives on keeping things organised and running smoothly. You’re curious, proactive, and ready to support Marketing Operations through smart coordination, accurate reporting, and a willingness to learn and grow.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or other relevant tertiary qualification
  • Confidence managing timelines, coordinating team activities, and supporting budget tracking across campaigns, events, and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing operations, campaign management, or marketing project management.
  • Comfortable working with budgets, invoices, and reports, and can spot discrepancies or areas for improvement.
  • Proven experience in process design, workflow optimisation, and change management.
