This role will have key relationships with Markets Operations, L1 Risk, and Derivative Clearing Services. This role will collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts across Markets, Technology, Clearing Risk and other divisions as required.

Your Team

This role exists in the Markets division to strengthen ASX’s ability to maintain critical business services by analysing and planning business, operational and technology resilience uplift strategies and capabilities across Cash Market Trading, Derivative Trading, Derivative Clearing and Benchmark Administration Services.  

Your responsibilities

  • Lead and develop improvement of the resilience posture by developing a resilience uplift strategy (roadmap, governance and operating model) and plan and leading and executing the uplift strategy.  Primary focus will be on Derivative Clearing Services. Secondary focus will be the Benchmark Administration Service.
  • Lead and execute the analysis of resilience priorities including fire drills, workshops and assessments.

Your deliverables

  • Analyse and assess at a detailed level the current state resilience posture against potential failure scenarios using structured methodologies to identify activities required to uplift business, operational, and technology resilience posture.
  • Develop a prioritised roadmap and plan of uplift activities, including associated governance and operating model for execution.
  • Lead the development, execution and embedment of prioritised uplift deliverables / outcomes, for example fire drills, playbooks (internal (ASX) and external (customer)), scenario libraries, business continuity planning and risk management.
  • Implement the governance structures and reporting mechanisms that align with enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, incident reviews and best practices.

Your experience and qualifications

Must have

  • Proven track record of leading and planning complex projects and programs of work.
  • Experience in financial markets in Australia and derivatives clearing.
  • Proficiency in scenario planning, risk assessment and management.
  • In depth knowledge of derivatives clearing from front, middle and back-office perspective including operations and technology.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills (written & verbal) to collaborate across business, operations and technology.
  • Analytical and structured thinking; the ability to approach problems methodically and deliver a tailed approach to uplift the Markets resilience posture.

Nice to have

  • Understanding of relevant standards for example, RBA FSS, APRA CPS 230, ASIC Market Integrity Rules and relevant ISO standards.
  • Experience in designing and running resilience simulations and incident response exercises.
  • Knowledge of ASX products, technology and stakeholders.
