Motion Graphics Designer

We have an exciting opportunity within our Creative team. We are currently looking for a Motion Graphics Designer to join the team in Sydney. This is a contract position covering a period of parental leave for 8-months. 

This role is responsible for establishing and growing a global VGW Creative Studio by owning and delivering high-calibre, on-time creative content across our brands. You will be a key contributor to a highly talented, multi-disciplinary, remote-first studio, working on everything from game video campaigns and social assets to high-visibility global partnerships. Your work will be showcased across a variety of high-impact mediums.

 Key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing video creative that follows strategic marketing objectives across our product lifecycle, from high-energy game video campaigns to performance-driven social ads.
  • Take approved concepts and storyboards and bring them to life with a sophisticated eye for animation, pacing, and visual effects.
  • Work under creative direction from the Head of Motion and Senior Motion Designers to ensure all assets meet a premium design standard.
  • Manage your own time and workload to ensure projects meet expected quality and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Build positive internal relationships and contribute to the creative department showcase, ensuring the studio is viewed as a center of excellence.
  • Partner with Marketing Stakeholders and the wider creative team to ensure assets are aligned with campaign goals and delivered effectively across all channels.
  • Use learnings from team sessions and analytics to ensure industry best practices are followed across all platforms.

What you will bring to the role:

  • 5+ years of motion graphics experience within an agency or high-growth in-house environment.
  • Mastery of Animation Fundamentals, a deep foundation in colour, typography, composition, rhythm, keyframing, and animation curves.
  • Strong video editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to create impact across short-form social, brand Connected TV (CTV) spots, and sizzle reels.
  • Expert-level Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Familiarity with related plug-ins (e.g., Red Giant, Particular).
  • Proven experience managing a mix of high-concept projects and fast-turnaround campaign tasks without losing attention to detail.
  • Bring a professional and respectful communication style in all interactions, able to take on feedback and build strong internal relationships.
