The Role

Fisher & Paykel is an iconic Australasian brand, a global company with a strong local heritage. Our origins inspire our culture of curiosity and passion to develop solutions designed around people - these are some of the core elements that make us unique.

We are driven by our values of being trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous, and curious. As a team we take a collaborative approach and have a working environment where all ideas are heard, evaluated, and tested against our goals.

Based in Melbourne, this is a senior opportunity within our Australian Retail Sales team, managing some of our largest and most commercially significant retail partnerships across the Fisher & Paykel and Haier brands.

As the National Key Account Manager, you will hold total commercial accountability for your channel portfolio, owning the full P&L and directly managing senior retail relationships. You will develop and execute strategic business plans that drive revenue, margin and market share, whilst ensuring our commercial investment delivers strong returns.

You will be responsible for:

• Owning the total channel P&L across revenue, EBIT contribution, series mix performance and investment efficiency.

• Developing and executing strategic business plans with key retail partners, aligned to revenue, margin and market share objectives.

• Managing senior/head office relationships and negotiating trading terms, promotional programmes and over-and-above investment, with a clear focus on commercial return.

• Driving ranging, placement and promotional activity across multiple banners to optimise series mix and channel performance.

• Working closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain and Operations to bring together an integrated channel strategy and ensure priorities are executed effectively in market.

• Leading regular channel performance and forecasting reviews, identifying commercial and operational risks and taking decisive action to drive delivery.

• Building compelling business cases for channel investment and ensuring commercial commitments are governed, measured and delivered against agreed return thresholds.

• Operating as a senior member of the Retail Sales team, sharing commercial insights and best practice and helping to build capability across the wider sales organisation.

So that's the role, who are you?

The opportunity is best suited to an experienced and commercially sophisticated National Key Account Manager who is confident operating at senior/head office level and managing complex retail partnerships.

You will have proven experience owning and growing large retail channels or accounts with direct P&L accountability, together with strong financial and commercial acumen. You'll be comfortable negotiating trading terms, promotional investment and commercial agreements, whilst understanding how ranging, pricing, product mix and investment decisions ultimately impact channel performance and profitability.

As a pivotal member of the Retail Sales team, you'll be highly collaborative and able to bring together stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Sales, Operations and Supply Chain. You'll have the credibility to influence at senior levels, the confidence to challenge constructively and the ability to turn strategy into action.

Experience within consumer electronics, home appliances or FMCG retail would be advantageous, particularly where you have an understanding of the Australian appliance retail environment. Exposure to a global or regionally matrixed organisation and experience working across multiple banners would also be valuable.

We're looking for someone who thinks like an owner - someone who gets into the right level of detail, is decisive, takes action fast and has the courage to challenge what limits execution and potential.

What we offer

We can give you the rare opportunity to join a large, complex global organisation headquartered in New Zealand, where you'll have significant exposure across the business and the opportunity to influence some of our most important retail partnerships.

This role offers diverse and exciting commercial challenges, the opportunity to work with senior stakeholders across both Australia and the wider Fisher & Paykel organisation, and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the continued growth of our brands.

Along with a competitive salary, flexible working, ongoing development and excellent growth and progression opportunities, as a valued member of our team you'll enjoy generous discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products.

All this, coupled with great leadership and backed by a world leading heritage brand.
