Boeing Australia is currently seeking an experienced Network Designer to join our team to be based 100% onsite in Toowoomba.

Primary Focus of this role will be to provide Network / System Administration for the new MQ28 Factory facility in Wellcamp, Toowoomba.

Due to the International nature of the role and business as a whole, there may be the requirement to support after-hour meetings, however flexibility is encouraged. Some domestic travel may be required.

About the Role:

  • Supporting IT Infrastructure environments delivering Network support and configuration (60%) as well as Factory System management (40%)
  • Hardware and software installation, configuration of servers and workstations to support the architecture
  • Validates end-to-end system functionality through unit and integration testing.
  • Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems
  • Provides implementation, support and configuration of Network and Infrastructure equipment
  • Support the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems.
  • Administer user system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements.
  • Maintain key relationships with all stakeholders in IT and the business by providing face-to-face collaboration
  • Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning
  • Promote security awareness to mitigate security risks
  • Performs system monitoring and reporting using approved tools and processes to validate system health.
  • Participate in customer and IT Change Boards to understand business requirements and provide analysis to determine changes required
  • Collaborate with senior personnel in performing risk assessments on proposed changes to determine impact on customer business processes and systems downtime and proposes changes as needed
  • Implement system changes across large, complex and diverse server environments
  • Evaluates business impact against environmental conditions
  • The ability to undertake adhoc tasks out of hours and available to be rostered for on-call duties when required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • A minimum of 5 years Network management, in Cisco or Arista systems
  • A minimum of 2 years Microsoft Windows server
  • Systematic and logical problem-solving skills
  • High level of customer service and interpersonal communications skills
  • A demonstrated ability to produce clear and concise documentation
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements with the ability to obtain NV1 or higher

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Linux Server administration
  • Project coordination experience
  • ITIL certification
