What this Job Entails:
The Network Engineer II is a focal point for all internal and external orders required to maintain the network. This position requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to details.
Scope:
- Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
- Works on problems of moderate scope
- Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
- Major duty:
• Serving as the first point of defense for all network-related incidents, providing 24x7network support for production and corporate network.
Technical skills:
• Troubleshooting layer 1-3 issues and maintain WAN, BGP, ISIS, LAN, FHRP, VLAN, STP, etc. and related services.
Daily jobs:
• Proactively monitor production network health, assess potential risks and take
mitigation actions to ensure quick service restoration.
• Deliver customer-centric support through multiple communication channels.
• Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for network changes
management, issue analysis and mitigation strategies - Install, configure and maintain various network hosts and services like routers, switches, firewalls, VPN endpoints
- Perform network maintenances/upgrades (often during normal working hours, but sometimes during the evening or weekend)
- Troubleshooting network issues and outages
- Participate in global production and corporate network including edge, backbone, datacenter, POP, and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure
- Handle multiple vendor switch on various servers in dealing with hardware/software issues
- Handle traffic, and any queries raised by ISP/Partners
- Provide support for any incidents such as input errors, CRC, RMA etc.
- Work directly with ISP/Vendors on fixing any issues related to network

- This is a shift-based position and may include weekend or swing shifts aligned to Sydney time. Most shifts will generally run 6 or 7 PM to 2 or 3 AM Pacific Time
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Have a full understanding of routing, switching, server operating systems, active directory, firewalls, wireless controllers, DNS, email, virtual machines and software applications
- Builds productive internal and external working relationships
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
- Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies
- Understanding of server hardware technologies relative to content delivery performance and capacity
- CCNA or equivalent
